Background

International conference on Science, Education, and Technology (ISET 2018) is an international refereed conference dedicated to promote acceleration of scientific and technological innovation and the utilization of technology in assisting pedagogical process. This international conference is a continuation of the previous three conferences. Its initial name was International Seminar on Educational Technology (ISET) for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd ISET. As ISET 2018 is now more focused on the emerging technologies, engineering, physics, mathematics, natural science and the integration of technological innovation in assisting pedagogical process, its name is now changed into International conference on Science, Education, and Technology. ISET 2018 will be held from 7th (Tuesday) to 8th (Wednesday) of August 2018 at UTC Hotel, Semarang, Indonesia.

The ISET 2018 invites experts, government, industry, professors, teachers, students, and organizations or other key stakeholders to present and discuss their latest findings in emerging technologies, engineering, physics, mathematics, natural science and the integration of technological innovation in assisting pedagogical process

The maximum words for abstract are 200 words. Accepted abstracts will be required to submit a manuscript of 3000 words. The manuscript and the abstract should be written in English. A blind peer review process will be conducted on all papers. Selected paper will be submitted to Scopus – indexed proceedings. Those manuscripts which are not eligible for the Scopus – indexed journal would be published to SINTA – indexed journal or ISBN proceedings.

The main theme of ISET 2018 is Global Collaboration to improve the acceleration of education in disruption era.

Call for Papers

The abstract is maximum 200 words and should consist of the following: background, aim of study, method, and result. The papers should be written in English and must not exceed 3000 words.

Prof. Dr. Fathur Rokhman, M.Hum.

Profesor bidang sosiolingustik Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni Unnes Prof. Dr. Fathur Rokhman M.Hum lahir di Banyumas, Jawa Tengah, 12 Desember 1966.  Pendidikan doktor bidang linguistik diperoleh dari Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta tahun 2003. Dia dikukuhkan menjadi Guru Besar pada 22 Juni 2006 dengan orasi “Mengembangkan Komunikasi Lintas Budaya yang Bermakna dalam Masyarakat Multikultural: Perspektif Sosiolinguistik”.

Sebelumnya, Prof. Fathur menyelesaikan pendidikan magister di Jurusan Linguistik Universitas Indonesia Jakarta (1996) serta S1 di Jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) Bandung (1990).

Kiprahnya sebagai peneliti terentang panjang. Prof. Fathur Rokhman juga pernah menjadi Kepala Pusat Penelitian Sosial Humaniora Lemlit Unnes (1998-2003) dan Ketua Lembaga Penelitian Unnes (2004-2007). Pengalaman nonstruktural antara lain: dipercaya menjadi reviewer penelitian Dikti (2000-2007), Ketua Asosiasi Lembaga Penelitian Jawa Tengah (2004-2007), anggota Badan Akreditasi Nasional Sekolah/Madrasah (2006- sekarang).

Buku yang pernah ia tulis antara lain Sikap Bahasa Santri (2001) dan Pemilihan Bahasa Masyarakat Banyumas (2003). Adapun Sosiolinguistik: Suatu Pendekatan Pembelajaran Bahasa Pada Masyarakat Multikultural terbit tahun 2013. Selain buku, beberapa artikel juga terbit di jurnal nasional dan internasional, antara lain Jurnal Lingua Artistika, Linguistik Indonesia, Linguistik,  Procedia-Social and Behavioral Sciences, dan Asian EFL Journal International.

Di bidang sosiolinguistik, penelitian yang pernah dilakukan antara lain: Model Pengembangan Sikap Integratif dan Instrumental santri terhadap Bahasa Inggris: Kajian Sosiolinguistik di Pesantren Modern Jawa Tengah (1998), Pola Pemilihan Bahasa Masyarakat Multibahasa sebagai Ancangan Pembinaan Bahasa (1999), Pemilihan Kode Bahasa Dwibahasawan Jawa-Indonesia: Kajian Sosiolinguistik di Banyumas (2000), Variasi Bahasa Etnis Tionghoa di Kota Semarang (2002), dan Signifikasi Sosiokultural Pemilihan Kode Komunikasi dalam Interaksi Sosial Masyarakat Perbatasan Jawa-Sunda di Cilacap: Kajian Sosiolinguistik (2003).

Pada bidang pendidikan, penelitian yang pernah dilakukannya antara lain Model Pembelajaran yang Kondusif bagi Pengembangan Minat Baca Siswa SD di Jawa Tengah (1998); Model Pengembangan Motivasi Belajar Bahasa Inggris sebagai Muatan Lokal pada Siswa SD di Jawa Tengah (1998); Pengembangan Rancangan Perkuliahan Metode Penelitian Bahasa pada Program Penyetaraan S1 Bahasa Indonesia Berbasis Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (1998); Pengembangan Rancangan Mata Kuliah Sosiolinguistik Berbasis Analisis Tindak Tutur dalam Berbagai Ranah Sosial (1999); Pola Interaksi Komunikatif dalam Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di Sekolah Dasar (2000); Pengembangan Materi Ajar dan Model Pembelajaran Muatan Lokal Bahasa Jawa di Sekolah Dasar Jawa Tengah (2001); dan Kajian Kebijakan Sertifikasi Guru sebagai Intervensi Langsung Menuju Peningkatan Kinerja dalam Pembelajaran (2008).

Prof. Fathur  juga menaruh perhatian besar pada kajian multikulturalisme, yang antara lain dituangkan melalui penelitian Model Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Berspektif Gender di Sulawesi Selatan (2000), Kajian Ujian Nasional Jawa Tengah Program: Penelitian Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Provinsi Jawa Tengah (2005), Studi Kebijakan Pengelolaan Guru di Era Otonomi Daerah dalam Peningkatan Mutu Pendidikan (2005), Pengembangan Model Pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia Berwawasan Multikultural di SMP (2007), Model Pengembangan Kompetensi Komunikatif Pembelajaran Bahasa Jawa SMA Berbasis Konteks Sosiokultural (2007), Model Pendidikan Multikultural di Sekolah (Studi Komparatif Konteks Pendidikan Indonesia-Australia) (2010), dan Pengembangan Model Kompetensi Komunikatif dan Materi Ajar Bahasa Indonesia Berbasis Multikultural dengan Pendekatan Sosiolinguistik (2008).

Adapun penelitian yang berkaitan dengan local genius, antara lain Potensi dan Strategi Pengembangan Sastra Pesantren untuk Mendukung Industri Wisata Religi sebagai Industri Kreatif (2009); Pengembangan Model Kompetensi Komunikatif dan Materi Ajar Bahasa Indonesia Berbasis Konteks Multikultural dengan Pendekatan Sosiolinguistik (2009-2011); Pengembangan Inovasi Pembelajaran dan Materi Ajar Bahasa Berbasis Information Communication and Technology (ICT) yang berorientasi pada Kebutuhan Kompetensi Komunikatif Siswa (2009-2011); dan Pengembangan Model Industri Kreatif Berbasis Sastra Pesantren sebagai Local Genius Masyarakat Jawa Pesisir (2012).
